Match Highlights:
Thunders lost the match by 4 wickets. Not an impressive start for Thunders in this spring T20 tournament.
  • Patriots won the toss and elected to field first.
  • Thunders had not have a good start. They lost the wickets in the regular intervals. Not a single patnership had built by them.
  • The only resistance to Patriots was from Thunders opener Kruttik who played patiently and showed his character with fine knock of 29 runs.
  • Also a final threat came from Thunders hard hitters Karthik Sutharsanam and karthik at the end by scoring couple of massive sixes at the final overs.
  • But it was not enough to control the Patriots from their first win in this tournament on the first game.
  • Thunders were bundled out 94 in 20 overs for the loss of 9 wickets.
  • Patriots started chasing well though they lost thier opening partership on the first over from Thunders vice captain Anand.
  • Blunder misfielding of Thunders dropped two catches on the second over from Thunders captian Sanjai; made enough platform for Patriots batsmen.
  • Patriots batmen used this chance well and settled down by scoring slowly and put the pressure on Thunders.
  • Again, more catches were dropped by Thunders made Patriots ease to the game. Thunders bowlers didn't make any significant impact since the poor fielding support from the team.
  • Finally it was good finish by the Patriots captain Ram to register their first win in this tournament.
  • Thunders have to make much more improvement on fielding, otherwise Thunders will be just a spectator to this tournament.
  • Will Thunders bounce back? Let's watch on the next game to be played on May 18th.
