Welcome to Cricket Season 2008

Thunders start their first match of this year season with IFC Strikers on Saturday(04/19/2008) around 9AM at Centerville Ground.

Welcome the new players Bommi, Elangoraj, Bharath and Akshay to Thunders.

Also welcome Prasanna(Brother of Rockers Raghu) and karthik(Joseph's Friend) to Thunders for the Spring T20 tournament.

Sanjai, Anand, Kalyan, Karthik Sutharsanam, Joseph, Krithik,

Bommi, Elangoraj, Vaasu, Johny and Prasanna.

Match Highlights:

Thunders won the match by 1 wicket. Good start for this year season.

• Thunders won the toss and elected to field. The match was reduced to 16 overs because of late start.
• Aggressive bowling from Thunders which didn't allow IFC Strikers to score more runs. They lost their first 3 wickets in the first 3 overs. Strike bowler Sanjai gave a good start by picking 2 wickets of his first two overs.
• Well support from the new bowler Elangoraj who picked 3 wickets of his 3 over spell. Also good follow up from Joesph who picked 2 wickets of his 3 over spell.
• IFC strikers managed to put 72 runs on the scoreboard after initial collapse in their top order batting; lost their 6 wickets in the 10 overs.
• Chasing 73 to win, Thunders lost their first 3 wickets in quick of just 4 overs. But Thunders captain steadied the innings with good knock for 26 runs.
• Though other middle order batsmans failed, the new players Vaasu and Johny stayed and brought back the macth in favour for Thunders.
• Nail bitting finish: 10 runs to win on last over with last wicket. Thunders vice captain Anand finished brilliantly on his style.
• Scored 2 fours on the last over which put the match out of IFC strickers. Thrilling finish by Anand.
